Biography: Jonathan Rosenoer is director, electronic commerce readiness, in Arthur Andersen's national computer risk management practice. Prior to this, he was managing director, strategic alliances, for Arthur Andersen Knowledge Enterprises, and he has spent most of the past decade working on the development of commercial online and Internet-based systems, concentrating on associated business risk and process issues. A nationally recognized authority on online business and legal issues, Mr. Rosenoer founded the CyberLaw section of American Online in 1992. As executive editor and director of marketing, western region, for Counsel Connect, the largest online service for the legal community, he produced the first accredited online legal education program. An attorney, Mr. Rosenoer is the author of
Cyberlaw: The Law of the Internet (Springer Verlag, 1997) and has published articles in numerous periodicals, included
Wired magazine,
Ethics and Behavior,
Policy Options, and
The Computer Lawyer, among others.
Douglas Armstrong is director of marketing and digital communications at Arthur Andersen Knowledge Enterprises. He also directs marketing and business development for The Virtual Learning Network and Knowledge-Space (www.knowledgespace.com), Arthur Andersen's award-winning electronic knowledge services, as well as leading the design and development of knowledgespace.com and arthuranderson.com, the firm's Web site. Since receiving his M.B.A. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Mr. Armstrong has presented at numerous conferences and seminars on Internet and knowledge-sharing issues.
J. Russell Gates is a partner in the Chicago office of Arthur Andersen LLP and leads Arthur Andersen's computer risk management practice in North America. He is also the worldwide head of Arthur Andersen's electronic commerce risk consulting and assurance initiatives, with responsibility for developing and coordinating service offerings relating to various aspects of electronic commerce, including business alignment, EC business risk management, cryptography and public key/private key infrastructure, and other Internet security and control services. Mr. Gates is the coauthor of Arthur Andersen's Information Security Framework.
